Teri Marquart
Functional Fine Art

A native of Fort Wayne, Teri embarked on a career in advertising and marketing in 1973 after attending the University of Indianapolis where she majored in Fine Art and English.  Self-employed for the majority of her professional career, her background includes television broadcast; offset printing; graphic design; commercial photography; film editing and multimedia.

While living in California with her husband, Bruce Barnette, Teri managed the 20th Street Art Gallery…one of the largest and most prominent galleries in Midtown Sacramento.  After her return to Fort Wayne in 2010, she served as the director and curator of Artworks, The Galleria of Fine Art located in Jefferson Pointe Shopping Center.

In addition to work, Teri has been involved with numerous non-profit organizations both in Indiana and California as a volunteer, organizer, board member, and/or art donor.  She is the founder of the Fort Wayne Arts Festival and has served as its Executive Director since 1999.

Today, Teri is transforming everyday mundane items into functional fine art for the non-traditional art lover.  Fun and funky, boldly colored and textured, she paints furniture; floorcloths; collector boxes; unique wooden bowls and plates…any paintable surface.  She also does interior standard and decorative painting; environmental color consultation; exhibition and public art curation; and art installation for both residential and commercial clientele.

Teri has exhibited and sold her work in galleries, art festivals, and retail stores in Indiana and California.
